Attendance Excel template: monthly employee attendance sheet
This free attendance Excel template is a monthly sheet for up to 50 employees: you pick one code per day from a drop-down list (present, absent, annual leave, sick leave, holiday or remote), absences are highlighted in red, and the sheet counts each code per employee, ready to feed the month’s payroll.
What is in the file
- Attendance: one row per employee (name and department) and one column per day, 1 to 31. Each cell has a drop-down list of codes. Absences turn red. The last six columns count present days, absences, annual leave, sick leave, holidays and remote days.

Good practice
- Record approved leave as leave, not absence, so it is not deducted.
- Keep the sick-leave count per employee over twelve months: Article 117 pays the first 30 days in full, the next 60 at three quarters and the last 30 unpaid.
- In Ramadan, Muslim staff work at most six hours a day (Article 98); record extra hours as overtime.
