Qiwa

Also known as: قوى · Qiwa platform

The short answer

Qiwa is the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development platform for private-sector labour services to establishments and individuals: documenting employment contracts, showing the establishment’s Nitaqat band and Saudisation rate, issuing and renewing work permits, transfers of services, profession changes and compliance certificates.

How it works

The establishment signs in through its authorised representative and sees a dashboard with its Nitaqat band, the required Saudisation rate and its headcount. The employer creates the employment contract in Qiwa and the employee accepts it from their own account, making it a documented contract that is relied on in disputes and in wage matching.

What it means for HR

  • The documented Qiwa contract is what the Wage Protection System compares your payments against, so update it whenever pay changes.
  • The band shown in Qiwa is the authoritative figure, not your spreadsheet estimate.
  • Profession changes and transfers of services go through Qiwa and depend on the establishment’s band.

Draft the contract terms with the Qiwa contract generator, and check your Saudisation rate with the Qiwa rate checker.
