Ajeer
Also known as: أجير · Ajeer programme · Ajeer permit
Ajeer is a Ministry of Human Resources programme within the Qiwa system that regulates temporary work by a non-Saudi worker for an establishment other than their employer, such as lending workers between establishments or temporary work for a contractor, with an electronic permit naming both establishments, the worker and the period.
How it works
The lending or receiving establishment applies for a permit in Ajeer that names the worker, the profession and the period, and pays the permit fee. The worker stays sponsored by their original employer and works for the other party for the permit’s duration.
What it means for HR
- Don’t use a worker who isn’t yours without a permit; employing workers not attached to the establishment is a violation.
- Record the permit and its dates on the worker’s file and track its expiry.
- Pay and GOSI stay with the original employer unless lawfully agreed otherwise.
