How to apply
[How to apply and the closing date]
How to adapt it
- Name the products and the customers. “Selling building materials to contractors in the Eastern Province” attracts better applicants than “sales”.
- Say how pay works. State the fixed salary range, the commission or bonus basis and how targets are set.
- Decide between field and inside sales. For office-based or phone sales, drop the visits and the driving licence.
- Keep the targets realistic. Describe the type of target in the ad and leave the numbers for the offer.
What to avoid in a job ad
- Requirements based on gender, age, nationality or religion. Describe the work and the skills, and let anyone who meets them apply.
- Vague promises of “unlimited earnings” that the commission scheme does not support.
- Asking for a driving licence when the role never involves driving.
Some professions and activities are reserved for Saudis, or need a set share of Saudi employees, under Saudisation decisions. Sales is one of them: the Ministry has applied a 60% rate in sales professions since 19 April 2026, for establishments with 3 or more workers in those professions. Check the decisions that apply to your activity on Qiwa before you advertise, and see Saudisation.

Frequently asked questions
What are the main duties of a sales representative?
Finding and visiting customers, presenting products, preparing quotations, taking orders, meeting monthly targets, keeping customer records in the CRM, following up on payments, and reporting on the market and competitors.
Is sales covered by Saudisation?
Yes. The Ministry of Human Resources has applied a 60% Saudisation rate in sales professions, including sales representative, since 19 April 2026, after a three-month grace period, for private establishments with 3 or more workers in those professions. Check the procedural guide and Qiwa for the professions and dates that apply to you.
Should a sales job ad state the commission?
It helps. Say whether pay is a fixed salary, salary plus commission or bonus, and how targets are set. Candidates compare offers on the whole package, and a clear statement saves interviews with people who expected something else.
