Nitaqat calculator (indicative)

A simplified estimate of your Saudisation percentage and band, and how many Saudis you need for the next band.

The short answer

This Nitaqat calculator is simplified and indicative: a Saudi paid 4,000 SAR or more counts as one, a Saudi paid less counts as half, and the result is divided by total headcount. The percentage is compared with band thresholds you enter for your activity, because they vary by activity and size. Only Qiwa shows your official band.

Indicative and simplified: the official calculation on Qiwa depends on your activity and size and uses averages over recent weeks. Use your own activity’s band thresholds.

How it works and what it assumes

  • A Saudi paid 4,000 SAR a month or more counts as one employee; a Saudi paid less counts as half (a commonly cited simplified rule).
  • Saudisation % = Saudis counted ÷ total employees.
  • Special weights, such as people with disabilities, students, flexible work and seasonal workers, and Qiwa’s weekly averaging are not modelled.
  • Band thresholds differ by economic activity and establishment size; the defaults here are not any real activity’s thresholds.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Nitaqat Saudisation rate worked out?

By dividing the Saudis counted by total employees. A Saudi paid 4,000 SAR or more counts in full and one paid less counts partially, with special weights for other groups in the official calculation.

Is this result official?

No. It is a simplified estimate for planning only. Your official band is on Qiwa.

How many Saudis do I need for the next band?

The calculator shows how many more Saudis paid 4,000 SAR or more would lift your rate to the next band threshold you entered.
